How to measure for your new floors

Welcome to our simple guide to measuring your home for your new floors. Follow along with our quick and easy guides and you will be measuring up like a pro in no time.

TIP! Always add 10% wastage for straight boards and 20% wastage for Herringbone floors.

1. Measure up

Rectangular rooms can be calculated easily by multiplying the length by width. If your room is irregularly shaped you will need to divide your room into seperate smaller areas, adding these areas together to calculate the total square meters.

2. Use our online calculator

Enter your length and width measurements into our Room Calculator below.

3. Add wastage

Add an additional 10% to your square meter total for wastage.

*20% wastage required for Herringbone floors.
